2026-08-26

Improvements:

  • New: AI assistants can now work with your boards. Boards Cloud runs an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server — connect Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop or Claude Code) or any other MCP client and ask it to find cards, create tasks, update assignments and summarise activity on your behalf. The assistant signs in with your Boards account and can only see and change what you can. See AI Assistants (MCP) to get connected.

Improvements:

  • The Boards API now serves its OpenAPI definition directly, and the API connector definition is generated from it, so integrations always see a definition that matches the live API.
  • Signing in returns you to the exact page you started from in more cases, including addresses that include a context root.
  • More reliable database connections between services, which now share a single connection helper.

Fixes:

  • User accounts with sign-in aliases are now looked up by their current identifier, avoiding mismatches with the deprecated format.

Improvements:

  • The API connector definition now covers assigning and unassigning people, following cards, card history, Board export and creating a card under a card, so integrations such as Power Automate and Zapier can find them.
  • Continued security hardening: stronger encryption of trial licence data, and an unused file endpoint removed from the API.

Improvements:

  • Signing in from another Huddo app that shares Boards' sign-in now returns you to that app, on the page you started from, instead of dropping you in Boards.
  • Single sign-out is now tied to the identity provider your organisation signs in with, so a sign-out signal from anywhere else is rejected.
  • Faster, lighter internal caching between services.
  • Continued security hardening of sign-in.

Fixes:

  • Text containing emoji or accented characters could be corrupted inside very large requests between services.
  • Signing out of one session could leave an out-of-date list of your other sessions behind.
  • Requests between services now recover properly when a service is briefly unavailable, and a malformed request can no longer stall one.

Improvements:

  • Sessions now expire automatically. Browser sessions last 90 days, after which you simply sign in again — if your last sign-in was more than 90 days ago you will be asked to sign in after this update. API keys (used for integrations and personal calendar feeds) last 12 months, and a key still in active use for a calendar feed is extended automatically so feeds keep working. The admin session list now shows when each session expires.
  • Further security hardening: stricter validation of identifiers in API requests, integrity checks on the API documentation page, and the offline service worker is functional again under the strict Content Security Policy.

Fixes:

  • The "Select from cloud files" and "Link to File" options are no longer offered when no provider with file access is configured.

  • Moving or copying a card to another Board failing when the card carried a deleted colour label.
  • User licence list showing empty rows instead of the user.
