Huddo Releases (change log)

Versioning

Huddo images are date-tagged — set global.imageTag to the release date you want to deploy, e.g. 2026-08-07.

The Helm charts are versioned separately; see Helm Charts for their history and the upgrade commands.

How To Upgrade

Update global.imageTag in your config file to the new release date, then re-run the upgrade command for your chart:

Because the tag changes, pods are recreated automatically.

Releases

Note

Updates may include minor schema migrations. If you need to downgrade, back up the MongoDB database before updating.

2026-10-30

Before you upgrade to 2026-10-30

  • Wikishift: the source database settings are renamed. The new image does not start with the old names, and the old image does not start with the new ones, so change them together with the image tag. See WikiShift Configuration:

    DB_TYPE is new and defaults to db2. Remove DB2_CHARSET, CNX_USERNAME, CNX_PASSWORD and STARTUP_QUERY: nothing reads them.

  • Links is a new service, deployed by the huddo-cp 3.1.1 and huddo 2.6.1 charts. See Links. On Component Pack, grant the certificate user readWrite on the huddo-links database before you upgrade.

After you upgrade to 2026-10-30

Template Studio search now comes from the search service. Templates, playbooks and property blocks created before 2026-10-27 are not found until the index is refreshed: run Refresh index once in Huddo Admin → Search.

Huddo Admin:

  • Overview lists the organisation's login clients. Admins can link users across two clients by email and preview the result before anything changes; the linked users' duplicate licence seats are merged
  • New Licences section: seats used, licence type and expiry, who holds a seat, and assigning or removing seats on named Wikis and Ideas licences
  • Search: refresh the index, or rebuild it for every organisation
  • The Wikis admin settings open inside Huddo Admin instead of linking out
  • New Links section for named networks, domain rules, threat lists and flagged links
  • The Huddo home has an "All apps" panel, and lists Admin for admins

Links (new):

  • One store for every link across Huddo: link previews, where each link appears, who can see it, click counts and safe-link checks
  • Optional URLhaus reputation checks, off by default. See Links reputation checks

Core:

  • The Huddo home, inbox and admin are now a single-page app. URLs and sign-in are unchanged
  • A faint background pattern on the home rotates weekly. A picker in the bottom-right corner pins one
  • Every app uses the same page, sidebar and navbar colours. In dark mode, navbars and sidebars change colour slightly

Wikis:

  • Old Connections wiki URLs only redirect to pages the viewer can read
  • The New Wiki wizard fits phone widths
  • The New Wiki Theme step, banner, palette and image picker have names and announcements for screen readers and keyboard users

Wikishift (migration):

  • Pages in the Connections trash are skipped
  • The database password is masked in the startup log, and health checks are no longer logged

User and licence services:

  • Licence seat changes check that the seat and licence belong to the caller's organisation
  • Linking users across login clients reports what it changed and rejects bad input

2026-10-27

Wikis:

  • Every wiki and page gets a permanent ID that survives renames (W-0042, P-00123), numbered per organisation. A wiki setting controls whether IDs are shown
  • Hover card on mention chips
  • A warning when you mention someone who can't see the page
  • Mentions on a draft page notify once the draft is published, not before
  • Templates, playbooks and property blocks appear in search
  • Studio access follows the owner rows, not the item's creator
  • Changing a wiki's property definition no longer changes its scope
  • Pressing Enter in search opens the search page unless a result is selected
  • Collaborator carets no longer break the gallery layout
  • The wiki wizard asks before a dismissal discards it
  • Theme cards pick a readable text colour and are tinted with the theme's hue
  • The Theme step announces its changes to screen readers and keeps focus in the banner

Spaces:

  • New blue logo, icon and brand colour
  • Customise mode asks before discarding or removing
  • The wizard wraps long text, caps the description length and says what went wrong
  • Leaving a space explains why it failed

Ideas:

  • Stage and outcome badges meet WCAG AA contrast
  • The webhook automation keeps working when a creator's profile can't be read

Search and attachments:

  • Text in uploaded images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF) is searchable with OCR. It is on by default; set OCR_ENABLED: "false" on attachments-indexer to turn it off, or OCR_LANGS (default en,de,fr,es,it,nl) to choose languages — see Attachments
  • A file identical to one already read reuses its text instead of being read again
  • Long author names and snippets stay inside their columns
  • One failing service no longer breaks the access check for search results
  • Uploads reach file storage before the file record is written, and the validated filename is stored

Discussions:

  • Notifications only go to people who can read the item the discussion is on

Core and sign-in:

  • The Connections header keeps the query string when it sends you to log in
  • Deactivated users can't sign in
  • Sessions can be revoked one at a time or all at once, including OAuth tokens
  • Tighter permission checks in the user service
  • An identity provider outage is reported as a server error instead of a failed login
  • Large file uploads stream to storage instead of buffering in memory

Wikishift (migration):

  • Migrated files upload before their file record is written, and a stream error fails the import instead of leaving a broken file

2026-10-15

Huddo Admin:

  • New admin area in Core for organisation admins, with an organisation switcher and an admin link in the header
  • Search tile on the Core home page

Wikis:

  • Export a section, or selected pages, as a wiki archive
  • PDF export keeps page styles
  • Table gutters and selection highlighting restored
  • Page saves retry on a database write conflict
  • The licence now applies to page actions as well as wiki actions

Ideas:

  • Breadcrumbs in the header
  • Shared sidebar, matching Wikis
  • Anonymous-voting labs hide voters and enforce the justification rule
  • The lab wizard scrolls as one page
  • A member whose lookup fails is left off the board instead of breaking it

Search:

  • Results page; labs, ideas and comments are now indexed alongside wiki pages
  • Rebuild the index from the Search menu without clearing it
  • Result links respect the deployment path

Services:

  • A user's session list no longer includes API tokens
  • A client without an organisation no longer fails user conversion
  • One licence alias with missing notification fields no longer blocks the others
