Wiki Archives¶
A wiki archive packs up a whole wiki - pages, files and whiteboards - into a single file. Use it to move a wiki to another Huddo site, keep a backup, or copy a set of pages into another wiki.
Export a Wiki¶
- Open Wiki settings (the pencil next to the wiki name)
- Click the download icon (Export wiki archive) at the top right
The archive downloads as a .huddowiki.zip file named after the wiki and the
date. You need to be an Editor or Owner of the wiki.
You need to see every page
If any page is restricted from you, the export stops and tells you how many pages you can't see. Ask a wiki owner to export it instead.
What's in an Archive¶
| Included | Not included |
|---|---|
| Every page and its place in the page tree | Draft pages |
| The latest published content of each page | Page history |
| Banners, images, files and attachments | Comments |
| Whiteboards | Members, access and page restrictions |
| Wiki name, description, tags, colours and verification settings | Verification and approval status, page owners |
Import into an Existing Wiki¶
- Click
+next to Pages and choose Import wiki archive… - Choose the
.huddowiki.zipfile - Under Add under, choose where the pages go - Top level, or under a page
- Click
Import
The pages are added after the existing pages, and you are taken to the first one. They follow the access rules of the wiki you imported into.
Importing twice makes copies
Each import adds a fresh copy of the pages. It doesn't update pages from an earlier import.
After Importing¶
Who can see a wiki isn't stored in an archive, so check Members and Permissions after importing and add the right people.
To bring in documents from other tools rather than another Huddo site, see Import Documents.
