Huddo Boards and Ideas

Wikis hold what your team knows, Huddo Boards tracks what it is doing, and Huddo Ideas collects what it could do next. Bring all three together on a wiki page so readers see the plan, the work and the ideas in one place.

Embed a Board

Put a live Huddo Boards board right inside a page. Readers can work with it without leaving the wiki.

  1. Type / and choose Board (or Timeline to open the board as a timeline) from the Huddo Boards section
  2. In the Embed Board dialog, pick a board and how it should look - kanban, list, timeline or mind map. You can also create a new board from a template
  3. Click Embed

The board appears full width in the page. It is the real board, so changes made in the page show up in Boards, and the other way round.

Who can see the board

An embedded board keeps its own Boards permissions. Readers need access to the board in Huddo Boards to see it - being able to read the wiki isn't enough.

Availability

Board embeds need Huddo Boards to be connected to your Huddo site. If Embed Board shows nothing, ask your administrator.

Already have a link to a board, card or list view? Type /, choose Huddo Boards from the Embed section, paste the link and click Insert.

Paste a link to a board or card on its own line and Wikis turns it into a smart card with the Boards icon. Use the card's toolbar to change it:

Option What it does
Card / Inline Show a full card, or a compact link inside a sentence
Convert to embed Replace the card with the live board
Convert to plain URL Go back to a normal link

Huddo Boards cloud only

Only links to Huddo Boards cloud (boards.huddo.com) become smart cards or embeds. Links to an on-premises Boards server stay as ordinary links.

See Links, Smart Cards and Embeds for more on smart cards.

Show Ideas on a Page

Paste a link to an Idea Lab or an idea and it becomes a smart card with the latest details from Huddo Ideas.

Card Shows
Idea Lab The lab's question and description, its stage - Voting, Review, Completed or Archived - and when it was last updated
Idea The idea's title, description and status, who suggested it, how many votes it has, its lab and when it was created

Cards are refreshed every few minutes, so vote counts and statuses stay current.

Link ideas to your decisions

Writing up a decision or a roadmap? Add cards for the ideas behind it so readers can see where the work came from and how many people backed it.

Each reader sees only what they have access to. If someone can't see a lab or an idea, the card shows Restricted page instead of its details.

From Idea to Board

An Idea Lab can use the Huddo Boards automation to create a board from an idea's details. When it has, open the idea in Huddo Ideas and click Open board to go to it. Embed that board in your project wiki to keep the whole journey - idea, plan and delivery - together.

Moving Between Apps

Use the app switcher at the top right to jump between Home, Boards, Ideas, Spaces and Wikis. The bell is shared too: notifications from every Huddo app arrive in one inbox. See Notifications.
