Frequently Asked Questions¶
Access¶
Why can't I see a wiki or a page?
Huddo doesn't show things you don't have access to - you see Wiki not found, or a message saying the page doesn't exist yet. It could be that:
- You haven't been added to the wiki. Ask one of its owners to add you - see Members and Permissions
- The page has restrictions, or sits under a page that does. Restricting a page also hides its sub-pages
- The page is someone else's draft. Drafts are only visible to the person who created them
Why can't I edit a page?
The pencil only shows when you are allowed to edit. You may be a Reader of the wiki, or the page may be read-only except for listed people.
If you can see the pencil but can't get into the editor, someone may be editing the page in a Just me or Ask first session. Click Request to Join, or wait for them to finish.
Why are readers seeing an older version of my page?
The wiki uses approvals. Your changes are saved, but readers see the last approved version until your approvers sign off.
Can I share a page with someone outside my organisation?
No. Everyone needs to sign in to Huddo, and there are no public links. You can export a page to PDF and send that instead.
How do I share a page?
Hover above the page title and click Copy link, then send the link. People who have access to the wiki can open it. To give someone access, add them to the wiki's members.
Pages¶
Can I undo deleting a page or a wiki?
No. Deleting a page also deletes its sub-pages, comments and history, and deleting a wiki deletes all of its pages. Neither can be undone.
Before deleting something you might need again, export it as a wiki archive or a PDF.
Who can see my draft?
Only you. A new blank page is a draft until you give it a title or add some text. Drafts are left out of search, Recent and PDF exports. Empty drafts you haven't touched for two days are removed automatically.
Can I get back an older version of a page?
Yes. Open Page options > Page history, choose a version and click Restore this version. Nothing is lost - restoring adds a new version. See Page History.
Can I move a page to a different wiki?
Not directly - pages move within a wiki by dragging them in the page list. To copy pages to another wiki, export a wiki archive and import it into the other wiki under the page you choose.
How big can a file be?
Images can be up to 15 MB, audio up to 50 MB and video up to 100 MB. Files added in the Files panel can be up to 10 MB. Documents you import can be up to 25 MB. Your administrator may set different limits.
Languages¶
Which languages does Huddo Wikis support?
Huddo Wikis is available in 34 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Thai. It uses the language set in your browser. Arabic, Hebrew and Persian read right to left.
How do I change the spellcheck language?
Wiki owners and editors set it for the whole wiki in Wiki Settings > General > Language. To use a different language on one page, open Page options > Page settings > Language.
Everything Else¶
Does Huddo Wikis work on my phone?
Yes, in your phone's web browser. See Wikis on Mobile.
What is the difference between a wiki and a space?
A wiki is a set of pages. A space groups several wikis for a team, with one member list and a shared dashboard.
Where can I see who reads my pages?
Open the wiki's analytics to see page views, readers and top contributors.
