Wikis

HCL Connections

Huddo Wikis works alongside HCL Connections. Sign in with your Connections account, open Wikis from the Connections menu, and add wikis to your communities.

Signing In

If your organisation uses Connections, sign in with the Connections button. When you open Wikis from inside Connections you are usually signed in straight away, without a separate login.

Your name and profile photo come from your Connections profile.

Opening Wikis from Connections

Your administrator can add Wikis (and Ideas) to the Connections navigation menu. Click it to open Huddo Wikis, already signed in.

When the Connections header is set up, it appears across the top of Wikis so you can move back to the rest of Connections at any time.

Administrators

Administrators can hide or show the Connections header in their own browser. Click your picture at the top right and switch Connections header on or off under Admin only. The page reloads with the change.

Wikis in a Community

Add the Huddo Wikis widget to a Connections community to give it its own wikis. Wikis created in the widget belong to the community, so its members get access automatically.

  1. As a community owner, add the Huddo Wikis widget to your community
  2. The Widget settings open the first time. Choose a Start page:
    • List all wikis in this community - shows the Community Wikis page, where members can click New Wiki to create one for the community
    • Show a specific wiki - opens one wiki
    • Show a specific page - opens one page
  3. Click Save

To change it later, click Settings in the widget.

Create a wiki first

To show a specific wiki or page, create a wiki in the community first, then come back to Widget settings.

Inside the widget, Wikis hides its own menu bar to fit the community. Use the Wiki actions menu for Wiki settings and Analytics.

Availability

The widget is available when your administrator has added it to Connections. See Widgets in the administration guide.

Communities as Members

Connections communities appear as groups when you share a wiki. Add a community as a member to give everyone in it access at the role you choose.

If your old Connections wikis have been moved to Huddo Wikis, links to them still work. They take you to the matching wiki or page.
